Audio Prep
Dearest reader,
Today I was not able to work on any filming or editing due to the fact that our filming does not start until Tuesday. Working around all of our schedules proved to be difficult but not impossible, however it did hail some frustrations. Delaying the filming has me wishing I could be working on something more significant than just transferring the music.
From my previous experience I know transferring music can be risky. I accidentally downloaded a virus during the last project trying to use a conversion website. This virus led to a lecture from my dad and a surprising amount of work to get the virus out. Screen recording the music off YouTube was the most effective solution last time.
One challenge that was posed to me when transferring the music was which clip of the music to use. The entire song is 10 minutes. This proved difficult to me because I love the entire song. Choosing which lyrics matched up the best and were realistic to convey through a first time music video was quite a feat. All Too Well (10 Minute Version) is definitely going to make it into my 2023 recap after how many times I listened to it in one day.
After selecting my slot of music I went to YouTube and got converting. During my first trial, my sister called me mid recording. After getting caught up in conversation, I obviously had to stop the screen recording and scrap clip one. However, clip two was way more promising. The audio sounded perfect and I was ready to send it over to my computer.
I learned last time that the file will definitely be too big to email to myself, so I already had a folder setup in google drive to transfer the audio through my google account. Once my google account loads the audio it's as simple as logging into my google drive on my computer and downloading the file. I borrowed an editing platform from my dad's friend and it came on a thumb-drive. Once I added that to my computer, I stuck the audio into the timeline and was done.
