Dearest reader, Today was the second day of filming. Since today was not a school day, we started filming earlier. Due to the fact that we are meeting at Alexandra's house, l woke up at 8:30. I live out west, about 40 minutes from the school. Alexandra lives out east about 20 minutes from the school. Last night when I got home from filming and finished all my homework, I went straight to bed. This meant that on top of my usual morning routine, I had to shower. I hopped in the shower as soon as I woke up and got my day going. After eating breakfast, I did my hair and got in my costume. Almost late, I ran out the door to head to Alexandra’s house. When I arrived, we were waiting on one teammate. Something family related came up and there was a delay. Similar to yesterday’s filming, those of us who were there made sure we were looking ready to film and had the cameras set up. Once everyone was present, we got cracking on the scene where we are driving off to start the tri...
Dearest Reader, I figured like all good friends, we should get to know one another, so here's some basics. My name is Sarah, this is my first year in film studies. In college, I want to study agricultural engineering. Currently, my dream schools are tied between the University of Alabama and the University of Florida. My favorite movie is Wedding Crashers directed by David Dobkin. Others tied for favorites include Enola Holmes 2 directed by Harry Bradbeer and The Grand Budapest Hotel directed by Wes Anderson. The majority of my inspiration is drawn from Wes Anderson. Wes Anderson is my favorite director. Features of Wes Anderson's style that I enjoy are his color pallettes and his humour. The best development of a character in film in my opinion is Padme Amidala. I admire the way that George Lucas created a character that is strong and yet very feminine. Feminitity is something that is close to my heart because it helps me be myself. Throughout watching the Star ...
Dearest reader, Below is a link to a doc, and the content covered in it. The questions I answered helped me reflect on my journey as a director! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1f99Zxe9TF1Skygs_bsfs9vrMeSfoQq8DNGD9Rjq4AlY/edit “How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?” My music video focuses on the conventional breakup as it is usually portrayed in the media. The idea of this video was to challenge the idea that people always recover from breakups quickly and in this powerful self assurance montage. It is all too common in film, TV, and even music videos for a character to go through a short period of mourning over a breakup and then have their magical redemption montage. Even within the original music video for this song, the main character ends the video as a successful author and the guy is seen watching her “come back”. However, I think that this ideal situation neglects the real pain and hardship of a break...
